Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program
Overview
Canadian Government selects professionals and skilled workers from all over the world as permanent residents based on their ability to settle in Canada and contribute to Canada's economy. There are assessed on their:
English and/or French skills,
education,
work experience, and
other factors such as spouse's language skills and presence of a close relative in Canada, that have been shown to help them prosper in Canada.
A) Basic eligibility
Applicants need to have at least one year of full-time, continuous and paid work experience in am occupation that is eligible for processing. Only the experience falling in the preceding 10 years is taken into consideration OR
they need to have a valid offer of arranged employment, OR
they are an international student who is enrolled in a PhD program in Canada (or who graduated from a Canadian PhD program within the past 12 months) and meet these criteria.
