When Star Wars debuted (long ago ...), quickly became a stunning success. Even today, almost 40 years later, the franchise conceived by George Lucas remains a massive legion of fans who take seriously the philosophy of the universe presented in the films. This healthy idolatry won in 2009, a record itself, Fanboys fun, accompanying fans whose common love for space saga takes them to make the most improbable follies.

Not that the film is intended only for fans of Star Wars, but it helps a bit if you have a reasonable idea about the franchise - as many jokes and references depend on some prior knowledge. Betting on numerous absurd situations, the film already has its premise in one bizarre idea: in 1999, on the eve of the release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, a group of five friends decided to break into the Skywalker Ranch (where Lucas resides) and somehow watch the upcoming feature film.

Fanboys is a film nerds, about nerds and for nerds. . Their characters, all ardent fans of Darth Vader and Co. possess several features - visual and psychological - that are generally attributed (some pejoratively) the nerds. Even the customary brawls between worshipers of similar franchises are shown. In this case, as it could not be different, the target is the Trekkers, Star Trek fans. In one of the most hilarious sequences, the group of Star Wars will stop in the middle of a trekkie convention - and the exchange of insults and blows is inevitable.

Joy to the viewer versed in movies, some actors of the classic trilogy give the guys in Fanboys. Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia in person, appears in a cameo uttering one of the most iconic phrases Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, while Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) plays a tough judge. In an inspired dialogue, another actor in the series is remembered: Harrison Ford, Han Solo eternal.

No visual effects and great performances, Fanboys bet on a lean, intelligent script and a finely tuned to achieve your goal list. And what makes leftovers. Exciting at times, the film hits dead not to deify the series without forgetting his faults: considered the weakest of all, The Phantom Menace is subtly poked in the last moments.
